History of Café Aguila Roja
Torrecafé Águila Roja was founded by Mr. José Panebianco de Rosa in the 1930s, in a place located on Carrera 4 with Calle 11 of the historic Plaza de Cayzedo, in the heart of Cali, from where the growth of the city began, and began to establish itself as one of the most important companies in the region.
This growth motivated the company to move, in 1939, to Carrera 5 and Calle 21 in the San Nicolás neighborhood, also in the central area of the city. And in 1974, the first roasted and / or ground coffee production plant was inaugurated in the municipality of Candelaria, neighboring Cali.
Technological innovation for the constant renewal of processes within the company, in search of high-quality products, prompted the construction of a second plant in the municipality of Madrid, Cundinamarca, in 1994. The third plant was opened in 2000 , in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao, Cauca.
This 2021 marks 91 year of coffee mastery in Colombia, by the hand of Torrecafé Águila Roja.
